Tips for the exterior:
- Make sure the street in front of your home / condo is clean and clear of debris and trash.
- Make sure exterior lights on your building are working, and lawys on at night - potential buyers love to drive by at all times of the day to check out the atmosphere.
- Add fresh flowers and / or greens to your stoop. They make a great impression in the city!
- Be sure to have a house number on your front door.
Tips for the interior:
- Keep your windows clean, and keep drapes and blinds open during showings! The lighter a home, the better!
- The smell of a fresh, clean home is very important. Be it fresh paint, house cleaning supplies, or a candle, they all have a positive impact on a potential buyer.
- Try to keep your house clutter-free! A good rule of thumb - pack away anything you can live without for the next three months. This leaves closets and cabinets open and accessible as people look through them.
- Place fresh flowers in places such as your bathroom, kitchen and dining room. Bright colors add a nice touch, and give the eye a place to focus on.
